I composed a pair of villanelles using only the real spoken dialogue of the two lead characters in the classic film noir Detour for Perisphere, the Trylon Cinema's blog.

Detour is playing in the Trylon's 16th Film Noir Festival in collaboration with The Heights, another beautiful theater in Minneapolis where the movie is being screened on February 13th. I can't recommend this film highly enough, I've seen it many times and it remains as fascinating, lacerating, and bleak as the first time I saw it.
